I think MiniHulk is needed here. His imagination with exercises is brill!
Yes actually the best way to work out and also gain insane muscle extra is with calesthetics which is what you are talking about. However that is just the very easy barebones workout. Check out the ebook or book call Convict Conditioning. It will teach you and your family exercises that were developed over thousands of years where you only used your own body weight. Which is actually far more effective since it works all of your muscles including tendons etc so you don't get joint pains etc as well as becoming all around athletic. All you need is a place to hang, which you already seem to have and your body. Check it out, it will change your outlook on working out. Also if you do get it, read the WHOLE thing.
There are convict conditioning videos on youtube too i think.

On the subject of the Iron Gym - anyone else got one?
Mine seems to be splitting my door frame.....I know its only cosmetic but I'd rather not make it worse.....thoughts?

Whereabouts does it split it? I've had no probs with mine, used it 3x a week for the last year....bit of black marking on the top of the door frame, but it rubs off.
To the OP - If it were me I would perform a full body routine 3x a week - chin ups, push ups, split squats, lunges, pistol squats. (Youtube them all if unsure)
Once you can perform bodyweight chins for high reps (1-2 sets of 10-15) and get used to them, Id start adding weight in a rucksack, same with all the exercises actually.
I also prefer neutral grip chins for various reasons so I'd go with them myself.
You can build an awesome body with minimal stuff, plus you'll have mastered your own bodyweight before you start adding additional resistance, a KEY thing the majority lack.
"Squatting on a Bosu ball makes it so much more challenging!" So does getting tapped in the balls while squatting, want me to do that too?
Its spitting on the underside of the fasica, so the whole top section is slowly coming away from the wall. I know its only paint splitting but its annoying more than anything.
I can be doing a set and I'll hear a big creak and it puts me right off.
