An easy 200kg snatch followed by what looked like a pretty easy 248kg c&j.

Hopefully he gets to the olympics this year.

The clean and jerk he did here was only 2kg off his best ever c&j of 250kg. He certainly has more to give here. His best snatch is 210kg and by the looks of the snatch here there is plenty more in the tank.

This guy is probably the best all round strength athlete in the world at the mo.

His oly lifting technique isnt exactly textbook, but he got the job done! As you say, easy looking lifts.

Didnt he openly admit previously using steroids? I thought that would disbar him from the Olympics.

I would say he has one of the highest totals of all lifts across the board in history.

He did openly admit to steroid use (which lets be honest was obvious anyway!) but he is now training without them. (He says steroid free) so would be interesting to know if these lifts were done without gear.

He has not trained specifically for weightlifting for some time (due to his participation in wsm last year) so he might have plenty more in the bag.

Have you seen the video of him, Klokov and Chigishev from 2005? Another Russian comp. Klokov hit a 240 clean and jerk and 202.5 snatch... Will be interesting to see how close he can come to those lifts as a 105 lifter as opposed to a 105+.

I'll be surprised if Misha will be able to seriously compete without being on gear to be honest, looking at the Iranians. Of course he will be competing for medals but I don't see him being completely clean. Very impressive that he is still up there in the mix despite not being strictly a weightlifter for the duration of his career

If you look in the message editor when you post a reply there will be an option next to the speech bubble, that says, "Insert video." You then copy and paste the link and success!

Haha I know, ridiculous. Whenever I miss I always chuck behind, saves the falling over as well! It's probably ok as long as there's nothing/nobody behind you.
