does anybody know why some weeks i can get 12,11,8 pull ups then the next week on the same work out day only manage 8,7,5. this happens allot to me sometimes i'l be fairly good and other times pure crap at them, i'm doing stronglifts 5x5 and doing pull ups on ohp and deadlift days. any sugestions ideas i'm trying to get to 3x12 then start adding weight, but i'm strugling to get there,n they just seem to fluctuate so much. I'm thinking of gresing the grooove do you reckon this would help me?
    cheers.

cheers how much would you recommend? I weigh 80-85kg i was thinking 2.5kg increases, but do you reckon i should start slightly heavier like 5-10kg? also is 3 sets of max, once or twice a week enough or should i increase too 3 times a week evrey week? plus grease the groove wit a few every time i pass my bar? i obviously don't want it to slow down my other lifts either so don't want to over do it too much. cheers

Enough weight to allow 4-6 reps I'd say

I pullup only 2x per week for 3 heavy sets And do max effort BW only when I pass the bar every so often
