For Anybody That Does Zercher Squats, I Was Wondering How You Would Suggest A Spotter Spots This Exercise?

Preferably A Method That Only Involves One Spotter As I Can Obviously See How It Would Be Done With Two.

    Cheers

Tricky mate. I've never really thought of it, I usually just set the pins on the squat/power rack one lower than the depth of my squat and start from there anyway. Saves anyone getting into any weird positions or headbutting your spotter. Have a look at the zercher comp thread to see what I mean

Just dump the bar? Zerchers are pretty easy to dump safely. but without bumpers people might get a bit irate.

Spotting it is pretty impractical, cant really do it from behind as the bar is held in front of you so they cant reach the bar easily and the torso is pretty upright so the spotter cant help by lifting the chest. And unless you want someone standing right in your face they can't really do it from in front either.

    So either:
    Get 2 spotters
Do it in a power rack and set the pins just below your bottom depth (The best option)
or just dump that sucka on the floor.

Yeah, now I'm at A proper lifting gym it won't be so bad. Was at Fitness First before where there wasn't A rack and lots of people complain about the fact I'm dropping bars and weights, much to my annoyance!

Do zerchers from pins and start in the bottom position.

To be honest I cant think how you'd ever get in a position that failing a zercher could be hazardous to your personal safety.

Unless you bailed backwards and dropped the bar ontop of your knees with vertical shins. ouchie.

Id have thought due to the weight position bailing backwards would be highly unlikely. I havent done a great deal of zercher squats but I never felt I was at risk of going back wards...maybe I just havent done enough to feel it.
