I know everyone recommends using BB's for Bodybuilders but what about if the sole aim was to increase strength?
DB = better ROM on any of those lifts.

Down to personal prefernce mate I think, personally Im DB for bench press, DB for incline and BB for military press.
Can everyone stop thinking so much.please?

i do them all anyway. tues flat BB, incl DB, flat/incl flyes or decl BB. Then on Fri - flat DB, incl BB. i remember though when i was about 17 i used to train at a powerlifting gym and the old guy who owned the gym(who used to compete at a good level apparently) was always banging on about the Flat DB for increasing strength, even though the BB is used in the comps.

Speaking of DB presses... what is the best way to pick the DB's up to start the exercise and place them down afterwards? I put them on my chest and then lower myself onto the bench and the same when getting back up but this sometimes makes my lower back crack. Is placing them to the side after the exercise, better? It's just awkward whatever I do.

I sit on the bench and put them on my knees. Then I fire them backonto my chest with my legs whilst simultaneously laying back atthe same time.

I love DB press, the motion feels so much nicer and i really enjoy it. However, there is never enough weight so i have to go for BB. Ive been a member of around 5 different gyms (health clubs) now and the heaviest Ive seen is 40k each and it really isnt too long before most people are lifting them. Go to a proper gym you say ? would love too but I dont want to have to trek over to the other side of town for the gym. I like to go in do my stuff then get out asap. None of this mirror posing . But then I'm not a bodybuilder, I just use weight training to help my other hobbies.

thats what I do with mine, when I'm on the flat I just drop them to the side to finish.

How do you do decline DB pushes?? that must be hard to get to the start position??

For me, I get them onto my lap, sit back, then move them onto my chest and begin.
