Hi there,
After trying this at a restaurant I decided to try and make it at home. It came out well and goes down well with loads of different foods and best of all it's incredibly easy to make!
Ingredients (some of these you can probably leave out if you want):
100g or 3.5oz of Olives (Black preferable)
6 Anchovy fillets
1 tablespoon of Capers
Juice of half a lemon
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tablespoon of freshly chopped basil
Ground Black pepper to taste
4 tablespoons of Olive Oil (or more to get the right consistency)
Put all of the above in a blender adding the olive oil and basil last. Consistency should be a thin paste and it goes with bread sticks, toast, fish and whatever else you want to experiment with. Keeps for ages in the fridge.
