I've been using maltodextrin in my protien shakes to add extra calories but recently its been giving my teeth hell....So i'm thinking of putting in ultra fine Scottish oats, as i will always be using it whith my protien shake will a sweetener be necessary..

It wont be necessary, but it will make it taste nicer. If you get unflavoured you can always make your own concoctions.

I don't think a sweetener is necessary, the shake will taste pretty oaty and savoury, it's nice once you're used to it.
