Guys, i'm starting my first cut and I am unsure as to whether any supplements will aid me...and yes I have got my diet sorted!

I think I will carry on taking whey and mpc, but what else have people succesfully used to help cutting? I also am hoping to not lose too much muscle?!

    Thanks for any help

Two sides of the coin here, there's supps that will help you lose fat, and there's others that will help you preserve muscle, and the two combined will help you achieve your goals.

For fat loss, pretty much anything in the fat loss section will aid you, however, my advice would be to see how your diet goes for, and if/when you hit a sticking point, and you can't reduce your calories any further or increase your workout intensity any further, use them at that point to kick start your weight loss again. Perhaps the one exception to that is fish oil, which I would take always, regardless of whether you are bulking, cutting, or just trying to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Was about to start a new thread but just read this one first, I am overweight and my primary goal is to lose the excess fat in the body. However I want to keep the energy levels at decent level too during this process too. I have joined a gym and have been going there for last two months. Overall my body has responded well and I have been able to consistently workout pretty well. However now the time is coming where I can't seem to go any further, I get tired very soon and over period of day I feel sluggish and out of energy.

As far as my diet goes, I take good care that I eat the right food and not each rubbish food. I normally workout in the mornings, this has been getting worst over time, i feel very tired soon, if I workout during the day when I have had a meal etc then I do not feel that bad but my weight loss slows down right away. I am looking for some advice on supplements that I can use which will help me keep my muscle and give bit of boost in the mornings so that I can keep the metabolism elevated throughout the day.

Please respond if you can help, I really really want to get rid of this bulk that I carry around and I hate it to bits and I do not want to give myself any excuse to slow down the progress.

    Thanks.

I'm betting that you are eating "healthy" wholegrains and other starchy carbs.
If you are, cut them. Eat meat, fish, eggs, vegetables (excluding potatoes, corn and beans), good fats (cook with butter or exta virgin coconut oil - you can order that from this site - and use olive and nut oils for dressings. Avoid sunflower/rapeseed/canola oils, anything called "vegetable" oil, and marge. Even the stuff that tries to sell itself as healthy).

Avoid fruits for the most part but berries are generally low in calories - a 200g punnet of raspberries is just 50 calories and doesn't contain too many carbs.

Whey protein is fine, and I don't think dairy is too bad if you can tolerate lactose. Just nix the carbs and I guarantee you will drop fat.

I would reccomend carb cycling and just eating them around workouts/mornings instead of cutting them out completely...

Good cheap supplements that I have used very successfully would be...

    Green tea

    CLA (bit expensive though)

and Glutamine is good for preserving muscle

And fish oils as above are always good...

You want to keep carbs low around workouts (in my experience), so that the body uses bodyfat for it's fuel, keep all carbs early in the morning (all with just with breakfast is ideal!).

NUMERO UNO IS DIET! Once this is sorted you will need very few supplements, obviously fish oil and a multi vit are a given, besides this you could also take green tea, sesamine and ALCAR (good fat loss AND natural energy stack), I don't agree with all these fancy aminos (BCAA, EAA, glutamine), having used them myself I find that just having a great diet blows them out of the water!

Best of luck with your fat loss!

Thanks, this is some really good info. I am going to embark on carb cycling, I have never done it before so I guess I need a bit of guidance with that. I recently got my bodyfat tested after 10 weeks of decent gym training. My trainer told me that I have dropped 7% body fat from 30% to 23.1%. I can feel it because some of the cloths have become loose. Anyhow it took 10 weeks to drop that much and I want to do it at a bit faster rate. Can anyone point me in the right direction for reading on good Carb Cycling info, I have pretty hectic life style so a program that suits on the go/on the move would really help.

Additionally all the protien powders I have tried in that past cause bloating for me, I have been told it is because of undigested protien in stomach. Has anyone got any suggestion on any that might not cause bloating, I can see that Whey does help because I have not lost any muscle.

    Thanks

Hiya mate, I'm also doing a Carb Cycling diet, started it on monday (13 July).

I found a website which is great and gave me an insight into this whole Carb Cycling and I, personally, think its going to work. Here's hoping.

Unfortunately I can't post the URL because I don't have 15 posts yet.. Anyways, just go to Google and type in: Carb Cycling Body Building - Then choose the 1st link which should read 'Twin Peak - Carbohydrate Cycling'

Let me know what you think.. Perhaps we can both give tips and help one another out?

I've found Thermopure for me personally very effective before a workout. Really helps with energy and the fat is coming off, not super quick I might add. I don't do a great deal of cardio though, I just superset my weights and do a complex once/twice a week.
