Problem with powdered oats

I received them this week.

Started drinking them today and noticed they smelt and tasted of soil?

Does this mean they have gone out of date because i don't want to poison myself lol.

They should smell and taste like fine oats.

If it's the first time you've tried them, they are pretty strange tasting and the fine texture is quite different from normal oats. I'm sure they're fine though.

I have been ordering them since October last year so i don't think thats the case. lol
