    Hey, cheers for that. Had been thinking about soup actually, have you got any decent recipes for high clean calorie soups at all?

    How would supplements like glut help with muscle revcovery?

    I didn't say stupid replies. By publishing your main email account you are laying yourself open to spam trawlers. So use a one-off one that you can discard afterwards.

    Incidentally assuming that protein intake is adequate and there are no major deficiencies in his mineral or vitamin profile and he is obviously getting enough calories then what he really needs is exercise and not supplemements. Even just walking around the ward, if he can do it, will help.

    The main danger from being bed-ridden, even for just a few days, is not muscle-wastage but from blood-clotting (especially in the deep veins of the legs). People get DVTs from sitting in airline seats for just a few hours. My brother-in-law was hospitalised for sitting in a crane cab three hours too long.
