currently on the A.D so a lot of my diet is taken up with eating cheese and egg omlette, scrambeled eggs with cheese, double cream(you get my drift)now zma should be avoided with calcium products so its advised to take it before bed.
sounds ideal as the rest of the day im eating these foods, but even if i take them with a little water before bed im always up a few time for the toilet(getting old, lol)so is there an alternative to zma?

Now with increased Zinc (30mg per serving).

Zinc and Magnesium is our version of the popular, but trademarked ZMAŽ supplement. We have included the same high quality ingredients to offer you the same core product at a much lower price.

Don't worry too much about the calcium, obv don't take the zma with 2 pints of milk or anything, just take it when you go to bed.

I can feel the individual effects of ZMA (my home brew at least) and i can tell you when taken with calcium containing foods there isn't much difference, in fact when i've taken it with cheese the effect has increased, no doubt due to the opiate like effects of the milk, the minerals and fats within having similar overall effect to ZMA.

Calcium prevents the absorbtion of zinc doesn't it?

I take it you want something that will help with sleep?

I think one of the users on here said L Tryptophan is good for sending you and keeping you asleep.

I've just read your post again - you don't need to drink ZMA with a litre of water... do ya? lol

Different people have different rates of mineral uptake, depending upon their current physiological state (e.g. levels of stress, training, etc.) and metabolism. Some people may have an increased need for both zinc and calcium at the cellular level, so they will make ample use of both minerals regardless of wether they take them at the same time or seperately. Competition for nutrient uptake is only likely to be a factor if your body has a higher demand for one or the other, or neither.

I basically mix two magnesium source (mg malate and orotate), so as to avoid too much orotic acid and to provide the body different pathways of obtaining magnesium, covering all bases so to speak.

This is staked with zinc gluconate because it has a good bioavailability and i respond well to this form, i absorb zinc well and have a good amount of zinc in my diet so i don't bother supplementing with anymore than 15mg, too much zinc coming in upsets mineral balance anyway.
