anyone know would really help thanks?
Hi,
I have been wondering about this for a while now just wanted an answer??
Sound stupid i know but.....
When you buy ready made capsules e.g. creatine pills which have a percentage of each ingredient, How do they fill the capsules so that they have the same amountof each ingredient in each??
basically would mixing thouroughly
100g cee
100 aee
100g taurine
and then putting into caps give me an equal percentage of each??
or is it more complicated than this
thanks for your time.
anyone know would really help thanks?
Providing you finely mix the ingredients each capsule should be ingredient divided by number of capsules filled.

The answer is that provided by any system that suffers the same problem.
Imagine a groundsman called Fred. His job is to re-seed a cricket table at a rate of 2oz of grass seed per square yard (which is about right actually). He has been given a half-hundredweight sack of seed and a bucket and told to get on with it.
How does he ensure a uniform rate of spread for the seed?
Its the same problem as yours, basically.
The answer is to use a dilutant.
In Fred's case he works out how many ounces he needs for the whole table. In your case its how much creatine (or whatever) per thousand capsules. He then adds a hundredweight of sand to the right number of ounces of seed. He then adds the mixture at the new rate to the table.
In your case the right amount of creatine is added to an inert base (rice flour, talc, magnesium stearate or whatever) and the mixture is then added to a thousand capsules at the appropriate amount.
The dilutant means that your margin of error (inexactitude to be precise) is comfortably within tolerable limits. Instead of being one milligram out, for instance, the dilutant will act to bring down the error to say 1/100 th of that. Its important to understand that the actual error may still be one milligram; but the active ingredient is only a small part of that milligram and its error has been minimised by the dilutant.
If this isnt clear just say so and I'll explain it differently!!

yes i do understand thanks for the reply, use a third party ingredient to make up the margin of error smaller right?
But couldnt i just make sure i mixed the different products together properly although they may not be exact but close
e.g.
100g cee
100g aee
100g taurine
so this is an eqaul amount of each in the bowl
A capsule fills 500mg so say........
500mg divided into three = 166g the equal amount of each ingredient iw ould like in the mix.
I know this will not be exact but surely it will be close if mixed properly?? not worried about leftovers does this make sence to you......
plus i think ive found a link anyway but please reply thanks again.
dont think im gunna bother tbh when i think about it i can just weigh say 2 grams of each and swish it down with some apple juice lovely haha
or just cap each seperately and take about 12 pills lol
thanks anyway for your time.
It's not a problem Alberto. It was an interesting/intelligent question and the answers are here for posterity now - just in case someone wonders the same thing.
Its what forums are for!
