    hi,
basically im new to training and need some advice on what supplements to use.
ive been reading a lot about impact whey protein and how some people can be affected by it with stomach problems etc. im usually ok but sometimes suffer from stomach problems so i wasnt sure whether the protein would affect me and it would be better to use the isolate? obviously as its more expensive i wouldnt want to just buy it for the sake of it.

    any help would be appreciated.

Hi mate, if your stomach problems are down to a lactose intolerance then isolate will be better for you, if not then i would go with impact whey as its cheaper (but contains lactose)

how are you with milk and dairy?

    thanks for the quick reply.

im fine with cheese and i think im ok with milk even though i dont have it very regularly. im probably just worrying over nothing and would be ok with the protein, it was just i didnt want to spend the money on it and find it made me ill as ive never tried any whey proteins before.

np mate, as i said i wouldnt get isolate unless i had a problem with lactose, you said you seem ok with dairy so i would say your better off with normal impact whey! (better for your wallet!)

are you looking at flavoured or unflavoured?

ps. feel free to use the code in my sig to get 5% off if its your 1st order! :P

i think ill go with the cheaper ye, im not exactly rolling in money at the moment! even without any lactose problems or whatever are there many side effects from whey protein? or is it just if you have more than recommended can you feel very bloated etc?

i havent got a clue with the flavours, thats a whole new problem! im thinking vanilla because it seems like a safe choice if im going to have to put up with it for atleast a month. im not into choc and i think banana/strawberry flavours could either be very nice or disgusting

good good! na i wouldnt say there are side effects of taking whey (although a high protein diet can make you produce lots of DEADLY gas! lol)

some people find certain brands of whey bloat them, ive never been bloated and ive tried alot of protein! however some brands can be frothy on top when mixed and drinking this may make you feel bloated so its best to leave them a while for the head to settle down

also if your having liquid meal replacements e.g. Milk, whey, ground oats, peanut butter this may make you feel bloated if you drink the whole lot quickly thinking its not much but really its a fair amount of food/calories and fills the stomach alot!

unfortunately ive only tried MP's unflavoured impact and flavored it myself with squash, sugar free crusha, milkshake powder. But just mixed in water it tasted like milk to me

ive had there true whey which is very nice (but more expensive)

The safe bet here would be to buy a sample of true whey before buying a big tub.
