Think I remember reading 32 somewhere?? Don't quote me on that.
Why does it matter? GI is irrelevant anyway.

If it is 66, then I don't think myprotein would be allowed to say they are low GI, because that is not. Low GI would be below 55.
Are you sure you are not looking up the Ready Brek-type instant oats as a pose to finely ground whole oats?

The fact that a wide variety of different GI values have already been given for oats just underscores how relatively useless the whole classification system is. Of the numerous studies done to determine GI, each have got different values for the same foods depending on where they were grown, processed and packed, how they were cooked and served and who the subjects were and against what reference food it was compared (glucose or white bread). It doesn't really matter whether the food is broken down into glucose quickly or slowly, it is still going to raise blood glucose levels above normal (seeing as normal is the equivalent of one teaspoon of sugar!). Every time you drink a cup of tea with one sugar, you are doubling your normal blood sugar. If you drink a 330 ml carton of orange juice you are raising your normal blood sugar by a factor of at least 5! A slice of white bread raises it by a factor of about 3.
