    Hey All,

Got a few questions about Green Tea Extract Powder which I am trying for the first time just now, hopefully others who use and have tried it can answer.

Is the powder meant to be brown? and the liquid brown after mixed? I know it's it's a bit of a stupid question, but just thought green tea powder and the actual tea would be green like others.

Another reason why I ask is because it doesn't tast much like green tea to me, more like coffee actually. Anyone else find this?

Last question: how much caffeine is in this "Green Tea Extract Powder", it says less than normal on the product page, and gives a percentage... but I don't exactly know if it's a lot or not....

Oh; I am using the right amount 100-200mg (about the tip of a teaspoon)

    Cheers,

    Nathan

I can answer the 1st few questions.

Yes, the powder and liquid are both brown.

It doesn't taste much like green tea but I wouldn't say it tastes like coffee either. I find that you really have to play about with the amounts to get the taste right.

The question on caffeine which I can't answer comprehensively but product page says max of 7%. Therefore, if you are taking 100-200mg, you are getting a max of 7-14mg of caffeine. If you want the extact amount I would suggest that you contact MP.

I'm just drinking a cup now, used to use half a teaspoon a cup! But now just on a tip of a spoon. It is a lot better (taste and benefits) with a little lemon.

Thanks blackstone. Was worried myprotein messed up the labelling and gave me some other unknown supplement. But I think it should be fine.

Regarding the amount of caffeine, I was more just confused wether the 7% (7-14mg) is a lot per day, especially if you have 3 cups per day. I don't like consuming too much caffeine, so prefer to keep the amount I consume very low. But I thought green tea, as it is, in general would have minimal caffeine, and this extract would have even less. Or am I just being a bit over the top, and this is already a really low amount?

Done a quick goole search, it seems 250-300mg of caffeine per day is ok for an adult. If you consume the recommended max amount of GTE, that's 42mg (16.8% of the daily intake). Seems not a lot and reasonable compared to they daily intake.

So my minds more at ease now, just to get over the taste- Will definately try the adding a bit of lemon idea, thanks james. xD

If other green tea extract experts got any input on caffeine or how to make it taste better, pls do keep the suggestions coming

Hi All, I'm new to this forum, nice to meet you. I bought green tea extract. Good to use with water, but can I put it into 500mg capsules as well? Or its use is just with water? Thank you

You can cap it if you want. I just chuck it in my mouth and wash down with some cold water.

With the powder you can adjust the amount you use to suit your taste. With the tabs (and especially the capsules) there is no taste. I use the caps myself.
