With my experiments in intermittent fasting, on non training / lower calorie days i have been pushing my fasting window more and more towards 19 hours (i.e dont eat until about 5pm). This leaves a 5 hour eating window on these days which is still ample time to eat my calories (because they are much lower), but maximises the benefits of the fast.

However, i am finding that when i hit the 17 hour mark i become ravenous and my body temp drops right off. I recently found some old resveratrol caps lying around at the back of my cupboard, and i have been reading that in some people resveratrol suppresses appetite and raises body temp. So i decided to try 300mg at about the 16 hour mark on my non training days. Hey presto! My body temp stayed up right the way through the fast, and i didnt get hungry.

Hmm, interesting given everything I've read on resveratrol indicates it's very poorly absorbed orally.

Well, all i can say is that it seems to work for me in terms of appetite suppression and stopping me getting cold. I was curious to know if other people had a similar experience, and it seems other people on various other forums have reported similar effects. I think Poliquin also wrote about how its good for appetite supression.

I'm sure i've read something about SIRT-1 activation in the brain and appetite. Resveratrol is a potent SIRT-1 stimulator so there's a tenuous link for you, maybe something to look into.
