Look, I prefer not to get too preachy, but seriously, PeptoPro is an advanced product. If you are an advanced lifter - ie. several years in the gym, lifting more than your bodyweight - or have money to burn, then maybe try it.

If you really want to spend £60 a month I would buy whey, zinc and magnesium, fish oils, creapure, Glutamine and Alpha Male multivitamin before I touched anything else mentioned in this thread. (and not even all of them are essential). If you still have money left after that, then look into some of the other stuff if you want, sure, its a free country

Then focus on whole foods rather then luxery like supplements.
Stick to plain Creatine, Omega 3, Whey, maybe also ZMA and Dextro/Malto

Hmm. Some outlandish statements/advice in this thread.

To the op. If you're looking to lose half a stone of fat and replace that with a stone and half of "lean muscle" this is at best, optimistic. I doubt you'd accomplish that with steroids, and if you're not a beginner you'll struggle to do both at the same time.

As for the ****tail of supps, before I recommend anything, what time during the day do you train? Do you do more than one session per day?

If I do weights I will train at 6pm for 1hr if I do MMA i will train at either 7.30 to 8.30 or 8.30 to 9.30 or when I do clinch work i will train from 7.30 to 9.30. I eat around five times a day but I dont really diet and eat some fatty stuff like choclate and cream and cakes etc so am carrying around half a stone of extra weight, I could be leaner. I am going to start to diet soon... Saturday and Sunday will train 10am to 12noon cheers in advance for your advice ATZ

Well my question would be why bother with the shake at breakfast then? Try to have a proper breakfast - eggs, oats, etc you get the picture.

If you can't eat 120-60min before working out then a shake would suffice, I'd recommend an easily digestable carb like Maltodextrin and some impact/true whey.

After training, if you can't eat within an hour have a shake, a mix of maltodextrin and oats is good especially if you'll be doing some MMA after the weight session.

In terms of quantites use the recommendations here: http://forum.myprotein.co.uk/advance...tml#post409691

Have a solid meal as soon as you can after your shake or preferably instead of if you can stomach it.

In terms of BCAA I wouldn't bother if your overall protein intake is adequate (a least 1 gram per lb bodyweight), they've only to be shown useful if your lacking in protein or during fasted training. As for the other supps peptopro and other fancy stuff are unproven in my opinion.

Other supps such as Zinc and Magnesium, Omega 3 and Creatine (Creapure) are proven and sensible investments.

Multi-vits are a good investment. I mentioned the Alpha Male ones, but if you want a cheaper option the Daily Vitamins are fine too.

Creatine is generally taken post workout, although some take it before. It doesn't matter too much, its a long-term supplement, not something you take for a buzz.

I use ALCAR and sometimes caffeine pre-workout. Other good suggestions would be Pulse - as Khris mentions above - L-Tyrosine or Beta-alanine.

Caffeine and Beta-alanine have solid science behind them, but lots of people swear by the other stuff too.
