I've been taking True Whey mixed with skimmed milk for over a year now with no problems until recently.

I now get very severe stomach pains after taking it. This has been going on for about 2 months now. I've tried a different batch, different type (impact versus true whey), but that hasn't helped.

Mixing with water instead of milk makes the pain less severe, but it is still there (I thought it may be lactose intolerance or something similar).

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what might be causing it, or how I could find out? Has myprotein changed its recipe recently, because as I said I had absolutely no problems before recently.

sounds like you have developed lactose intolerance. Do some tests to confirm. Try drinking certain dairy products in isolation to see if it gives you an upset stomach still.
Alternatively you could try whey isolate or taking some lactase tablets before shakes to see if this solves the problem.

Does the whey protein itself contain lactose?? I have tried it with water with similar but not as severe problems

his happened to me when I first started using Protein Powder from this site-it got so bad I had to take days off work! It took a while to get used to (in fact I switched to another brand for a month), but after a while my stomach got used to it. Quite a few of my friends who started on MP's stuff had the same problem.
