Hi i'm new to this forum & my main reason for joining is I have 2 questions each for 2 products.

    Whey Protein
When should I be taking it, pre or post work out?
What should I be taking it with?

    Creatine
Again, when should I be taking it, pre or post work out?
What should I be taking it with?

I know these may be obvious to some, but I have searched the internet & got so many conflicting views, any help would be much appreciated.

    Whey Protein
This is really a case of tailor it to your needs. Firstly you ideally want a shake immediately post workout, thats a given. Other than that you would take it throughout the day where you need to up your protein intake. For example you can have one before bed (with milk) for slow digestion. One in the morning if your breakfast isn't readily available first thing, etc. What's your current diet like??

    Creatine
Which form of creatine do you have first of all? This is dependant due to the fact not all creatines require loading phases etc

whey=2-3 a day as you require to increase protein intake, this is usually taken when you wake up/breakfast, after training/post workout and before bed.

    creatine=5g post workout.

    What MR said.

Don't worry about taking Creatine with anything, other than maybe water (100ml per gram). Don't worry too much about when you take it either, its a long-term supplement, takes weeks to see the full effects (assuming you don't load).

thanks for the info, the creatine i'm getting is creapure from MP. I'm unsure if I have the loading phase is required on this or not?
With the whey, what do you take it with the rest of the time? fruit juice or just water?

For whey I would have it with either water or milk.

It's completely your decision if you want to include a loading phase, after all it's Monohydrate. If you do, try something like 20g for the 1st 5-7 days split into 2-4 servings per day. If not, and it isn't strictly necessary, simply follow MP directions.

Water is fine, however there are some benefits to taking creatine with juice/an alternative fast acting carb source, for example sports drinks etc (though I would recommend grape juice personally if you go down that route)

    Lastly drink lots of water!

Hi, bit late i guess, but can i just add that i'd certainly do what MR recommends for creatine loading. However try and gauge what works for you.
For me, after loading as per MR's recs, i could easily maintain on 2 x 3g servings a day (i weight 12st), but my mate religiously took 20-30g/day even for maintenance because he knew it worked and wouldn't risk dropping his intake incase it stopped working, which subsequently cost him a fortune in creatine. Once your body is saturated, anyting else is a waste.
Just thought i'd mention it. It can be easy to go overboard if things are working, but overconsuming can be very expensive.
