I have been taking Impact Whey Protein for the extra protein for muscle gains, Pulse to give more energy and strength at the gym and i have Instant Oats sometimes just for a good snack that aids bulking but i have been looking into some amino acids (mainly BCAA + and HMB) and am wondering if its something i'm missing out on.

I stick strictly to the lean muscle diet on the main myprotein website and along with the protein and pulse have really been getting into good shape (5'11, 12 stone 6) but am just wondering if it's worth getting either of these amino acid products to aid muscle gains. The diet and supplements i'm using now certainly work but if these will help i'd like to know.

    Help would be appreciated.

HMB isn't really rated as a great supp generally, but of course try it if you want.

BCAAs seem to be absolutely amazing in studies where protein intake is poor, and not do that much in studies where protein intake is good. So if your diet is good...

Tauren hit the nail on the head. BCAA's good in theory, not so in practice. Only practial use I see is for fasted training or on a harsh diet. HMB is unproven at best.

Nail diet as near to 100% as possible then take creapure, a multi vit (to cover any weak intake from diet), and plenty of fish oils. Heck, if you pick the rights foods in your diet multi vits can be dropped, too.

I take EAAs and would recommend them, I find that helps me recover really fast.
