how long is a peice of string.... it not have been the shake that was making you fat, it hard to say wityh know your whole deit plan, but you could alway mix impact whey with creatpure and you have made hurricane just with out the carbs, and that type of oats are good in morning as they have high protein and low gi content, just need the right deit plan for what you are trying to do hope this helps

If you want to bulk you need to eat more, break down how much carbs, protein, fat you are eating at the moment and people might be able to help more also your, height, weight, and body fat percentage if you know it.
I may not be there yet, but I am closer than I was yesterday.

well its not gonna do you any harm i just have whey shake in the morning but i eat a lot of little bits thou out the day ( quite luckly with work) and yeah mate just swap to impact whey after trainging session and mix it with about 5g of creatine ( it worth doing some before training to there because it can be really cheap and help a lot, there more advice on creatine on some other fourums ) and it should a simalar effects, and i think you were eating to much at lunch probz about 1000 calroies in one sitting which is lot, you will bulk up quickly but you get fat so cut that shake out , and eat less on your plate wen you 1st get back into it so you can get the blance right of carbs and protein to grow in the right way

It doesn't matter how much you eat in one sitting as long as you hit your targets throughout the day. For me to bulk I need 3500 calories per day. I could have that in 1 sitting, 3 sittings or 6. It doesn't matter. To tell you the truth it doesn't matter what you eat either! If you are bulking then anything will do within reason. The goal is to put on weight, and this will always include some fat. Don't worry about that bit - just put the weight on and worry about losing the fat later!

James88, post up your current diet. If you don't know how many calories you should be aiming for also post up your age, height and current weight - and if known, body fat percentage. This way people can advise you.

zombie does it not matter what he is training for.... i'm trying for muscle and to look good (vain i no) but i do also enjoy my training aswell so i'm in a balancing act of eating to keep body fat low but eating enough to bulk. but james for bulking zombies comment is very vaild.

James88, it might be a bit overwhelming taking in all these different opinions on nutrition. One thing is for sure, you won't get the advanced bit right, if you don't understand the basics. My advice is always the same with questions like this: A guy called "Spiderdan", (well some say he's a guy, other say he's more half man, half Roman myth) has written a very detailed beginners guide to nutrition and training, I think it's a sticky in the forum menu. Read it, read it again, and then once more. It will give you the foundation of knowledge you need to understand the next step in training and nutrition.

I have some whey protein isolate with my porridge in the morn, then a pre workout shake before my workout, followed by some more whey protein isolate with some creapure mixed in fater the work out. On non gym days I will have my first dose of creatine in the morn and again later that eve after dinner.

I agree about hurricane XS, you may have been overdoing the servings per day or been taking too much in each shake/with breakfast ?

    Hope that helps
