    Hi all,

Hopefully this is the right place to start?! Sorry if not

I have recently been diagnosed with achalasia - basically my oesophagus has given up and I'm on practically a liquid-only diet.

I'm a judo coach, and have been quite happy as a fatty, particularly as I've had the strength behind me when needed. I've now lost almost 40kg, from 120kg to 81kg in little over a year. Whilst this seems like the best diet ever, it's pretty torrid. I have absolutely no energy and have been on soup for the vitamins and ice cream for the calories to try and maintain some weight.

At 81kg, I'm quite happy never to go up any more. If I get reasonable treatment then I may well go for bulking up to 88-89 properly.

For now though - energy. A friend gave me some protein shake that they ended up not using. Suddenly had a massive boost of energy and have had some recovery at long last from the physical side of judo. Great.

Problem is, I haven't a clue what to get to replace it? The front of the tub has:
    QNT
    Metapure
    Zero Carb
    100% Whey Isolate
Lactose Free (I'm not lactose intolerant though, so that's not important - or is it?!!)
    Aspartame Free
50g Protein, 0g Fat, Low Carb, 11g BCAA

I mixed with full-fat milk to compensate in the lack of fat elsewhere in my diet, even though it suggests water or skimmed-milk.

It's worked, it's been great, and I can feel the energy almost immediately to be honest. What can I get in replacement?! I've also been recommended some ultra-fine oats to add to the shake for carbs; any thoughts?!

Sorry to ask all this, but looking at the site I've been totally overwhelmed with all the choices as I don't really have the foggiest in what I need or can have?!

Have you got a fruit and vegetable juicer? If you have problems with your throat then you could take advantage of a really healthy and effective diet and juicing greens should be your first priority.

I would personally buy some whey concentrate and bcaa powder from MP and mix one of them up for post workout protein, you can even mix it in with green vegetable juices for the insulin response. You could also consider doing a keto style diet and start drinking pots of double cream for your calories (add some bcaa powder to this too to make a protein powerhouse).

This isn't medical advice by the way, but this should be easy on your throat.
