I'm just about to buy some ingredients for a home made pre-workout drink. I'm going to get caffeine, beta-alanine and creatine mono. What should I mix it with? I'm guessing I should also have a bit of an insulin spike before the gym but I eat low carb and I don't want a tonne of sugar. Any ideas?

avoid sugary carbs before a workout! your list is fine as it is. You coud mix with a complex carb like instant oats an hour before if you are doing a weight program for gaining and you want some extra fuel.

It's also about making the drink palatable. I usually use sugar free squash but I was wondering if there is a better option. Maybe some electrolytes, I'm doing a lot of conditioning sessions and I get pretty sweaty.

there is a supplement on the mp store that has electrolytes and is ideal for long training sessions, cant remember what it is called but take just look in the pre and post workout sections and you will come across it. To add a decent flavour you can also but mp flavour powder/ You only need a small amount in each shake so hardly any sugar.

Ah, flavour powder. I didn't know they did it. Problem solved.
