Hi all. I recently purchased MP's Impact Whey protein and have a question.

I have bought many other Whey Protein brands before MP's. With MP's, it feels completely different. For example, the recommended 25g in 200ml of water has a very thin consistency just like water and merely tastes like sweetened vanilla water. I have always been used to a much thicker consistency in other whey protein brands.

Additionally, I have always been used to serving more then 25g in one serving with other brands which puzzles me slightly.

An even more noticeable difference is that with all previous brands, if I neglect to wash my shaker for a day, the smell that comes from the shaker is absolutely awful. With the MP brand, I merely smell the flavor (vanilla) even after a couple of days.

Has anyone else noticed these differences or what causes them?

    Thanks

Hi, I use the chocoloate smooth. The consistency depends on how much water I use. it mixes well in 150ml but is thicker then with more water. Also, you dont have to stick to using 25g, I use 60g postworkout. And my shaker STINKS if I dont wash it straight away.

Other companies normally have fillers and various cheap ingredients that 'fill out' the powder, with MP you get exactly what you pay for, nothing more, nothing less. But yeah, as above, no reason to stick to 25g? Use whatever you need to reach your daily protein intake AFTER deductions of protein content from your excellently crafted diet.

I noticed that about the consistency aswell (with cookies and cream), even using less water. and I dont like the idea of having more powder in my shaker than water

I read somewhere that you can use a pinch of xanther gum to thicken it up. So i tired it..... and i dont recommend it!

Haha, the 'joys' of xanther gum, it's crazy... you only need the smallest of amounts. How about using jersey milk or cream with the shake?

Very Full Fat milk. From Jersey cows (breed). In Jersey (an island). You might see it being sold as "breakfast milk", or "gold top". Its much much richer than normal stuff!

And a lot more healthier, to boot! Jersey cows are a different breed of cattle, to keep it simple

EDIT: Obviously not aimed at your good self, Wotan. Just realised that may of been taken wrongly (damn internet for lack of tone of voice or body language!).

Thanks for the responses. I guess I was wondering whether I received a different product by mistake since it seems to come in a generic MP bag and a sticker is then added with the product description.

I also noticed that the look of the powder differed a lot from other brands. Where others I had used were maybe more powdery, MP's powder looks similar to sawdust and dissolves far too easily then I am used to!

I absolutely love the fact that MP's impact whey isn't thick as it makes it much easier to drink and doesn't fill you up, therefore you can still eat where required. I am just hoping I'm actually taking the right product!
