It depends on the strength of the Fish Oil you're taking. If it's very high quality then you won't need half as much. Example:
10g of fish oil at 30% EPA/DHA = approx 3g of Omega-3
10g of fish oil at 60% EPA/DHA = approx 6g of Omega-3
Does it really matter if it's from capsules or liquid? Main difference I can see is in capsules you won't know about the quality or freshness of the oil unless you bite one and smell the liquid inside (it shouldn't smell fishy) Whereas if you buy the more expensive liquid you will know it's rancid as you will obviously smell and taste it.
There are no set in stone amounts you should take everyday, we're all different, for example it depends on your bodyweight. I'm guessing I would need more than you as I weigh a lot more. One of the main things to consider is the ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 and Omega-9 in your diet. Western diets are typically well out of balance with some eating a ratio between 10-20:1 of O-6 to O-3. A far healthier ratio should be between 4:1 and even as much as 1:1.
There's loads of information out there, just have a google of Omega-3 ratio
