Generally speaking, you want a balanced mix of vitamins to support your body and its training regimes. As a male i tend to take 'Alpha Men' multi-vit but i also like to use effervescent vits such as *******

Most multi-vits can be taken once daily so convenient to take with breakfast.

basically.... im assuming, for example, centrum is better than tescos own brand multi vit. But whats it down to? quality? brand name? mg's? ......

Im taking *COMP PRODUCT* (women under 50)...but im considering *COMP PRODUCT*. Or is there anything thats recommended?

*COMP PRODUCT* is one of the better multi vits. to be honest, the amount you need you should be able to pick up in diet if it is balanced. Multi-vits are additional support and are great for immune system (although i have a cold at the moment!)

most people find that certain supplements work better for them despite reviews etc. it might be worth trying out a few of them and seeing how effective you think they are.

I see your location is Brighton area. If you need any nutritional assistance, my club is near Shoreham/Worthing so you can pop up to talk more.

Dude, she just wanted advise on a multi vitamin, not a personal one-2-one consultation.

Basically, what differentiates them is the quality of the ingredients they put in them. Most of these brands will go for the cheapest ingredients that have very limited bioavailability and tend to just go straight through you. A prime example of a cheap ingredient is magnesium oxide, which has a particularly low absorption rate by the body and is a pretty useless supplement. From what i've seen, you can basically judge the whole product by the type of magnesium they put in, if it's mag citrate or ascorbate, they've probably put a bit of thought into the ingredients and it's generally indicative of a decent product. But these products also tend to cost more.

Another prime example of an ingredient you can use to judge the rest of the product is Vitamin D. If they've used Vitamin D2 instead of D3 then they've put no thought into the product. D2 is a useless supplement, especially considering the fact that D3 is cheap as chips anyway!

Also, one more thing, you just want a multivitamin/mineral, you don't need an all in one mega-product with various weird supplements at doses so low they won't do a damn thing. Things like gingko, antioxidants, digestive enzymes and all the other crap you see on the ingredients list.

just a quick heads up of the forum rules. no discussion of competitor products please as mp sell multi vits.

i personally use mp's daily vit. does the job for me.

for danpetersen: unless mp has approved of it, advertising business on teh forum is also a no-go.
