no difference really. one is a longer chain simple sugar, but they are both high GI simple sugars.
If you're on a cut, why not consider oats post workout? say 80g or so

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.
cheers gareth83 thats what i like a nice simple answer
I have read that maltodextrin is slightly different in the way it is absorbed/digested giving it far less chance of being converted to fat than other fast absorbing carbohydrates and i find this to be very true myself and always utilise it in most of my shakes!

I currently use maltodextrin 95% and 5% dextrose mix which is great. I also mix it with Whey Protien, Creatine Monohydrate and some flavouring system.
Whey Protien 30g
Malto Mix 25g
Flavouring System 10g
Creatine 5g
Tastes Ok i uses use this straight after a workout and it works ok.
hi everyone,
i am new to this forum but i thougth i give my two cents as well. as i understand it you should have a 50:50 mix of dextrose and maltodextrin immediatly post workout and then 10 - 15 mins later have your whey protein. the sugar will result in a insulin spike which can then shuffel as much of the protein into your system as possible. there is a nice little site discussing why the two sugars mixed (rather then on their own) are important:
.abcbodybuilding.com/magazine03/dextrose.
the main difference between dextrose and maltodextrin is that dextrose is a single polysaccharide (sugar) molecule, whereas maltodextrin is a chain of 3 to 20 polysaccharide structure.
The Dude
Id go for 50:50 split between malto and dextrose myself Post workout
I would do this but fnd it far to sweet so go for 15g dex + 35g of malt
