Vitamin B Complex contains all the B vitamins including B6. It wouldn't do you any harm to take the rest of them too.

It is usually more effective to take the entire B vitamin complex - unless you have a very specific deficiency or deficiency disease. In the latter case, you are taking the isolated vitamin more as a remedial drug than a vitamin.

PS. Why does your friend think you need vitamin B6? Has he/she given you a reason? Does he/she know what they are talking about?!

Hi Thanks for reply he said it allows the body to use energy stored in protein and carbohydrates from the food you eat and helps the blood carry oxygen around the body, it is also a diuretic which means it will help you get rid of excess water. is this correct

Yes, that is broadly correct. However, unless you have a deficiency (or do not currently get enough in your diet), taking it as a supplement is unlikely to increase those functions beyond what they currently may be. This is where the 'diuretic effect' may come in; since all B vitamins are water soluble, any excess will just be eliminated in the urine.
