Am about to spend another load of money and was just wondering about the MP fine oats and whether or not they are a worth while buy? at the moment I but whole rolled porridge oats and have them sprinkled on cereals and salads and also chuck a couple of tablespoons in with my shakes. Whats the main difference between the fine oats and porridge oats and is one better than the other for overal general use?

I think the fine oats are just ground up. Nutritionally there's no difference

So maybe they're not as versatile as porridge oats which I mix with fruits and seeds and nuts for breakfast toppings and snack? You probably couldn't do that with fine oats cos I guess it more like a pwder?

As far as I can tell the fine oats mix better when you add tham to a shake but I don't mind the whole oats in mine. I guess it's a matter of personal taste really. Like Ollie said there should be no nutritional differnce!

Think I'll stick to me porridge oats - I like my shakes so I can chew 'em!

Before I used the ultra fine oats I thought taste wise there wouldnt be much difference. Nutritinally they are the same.

Then I decided to get some and i'm SO glad I did. They make the shake even slightly nicer and I really didnt like adding normal oats to my shake. If you don't find it a problem then its doesnt matter but I enjoy my shakes so much more now I've got the ground ones

I find the ultra fine oats are great in shakes and slip down just nicely. I couldn't imagine chugging down porridge oats, but then I've never been a porridge fan...
