A sandbag is a sanbag surely??

Importing one from the states would be a waste of money, just ring up the company you mention and give them the specs

There are plenty of web sites offering 'make your own sandbag' instructions using materials easily and cheaply available!

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mak...ient=firefox-a

Here's an online resource for buying both filled and empty sandbags of varying types:

Surplus store for the sand bag.

Use a plastic liner bag otherwise you'll get sand on your skin and trust me, slinging sand bags and stuff on your shoulder with sand on them really does give you nasty rashes.

did some more research and am just waiting for it all to arrive.

making my own sandbags, i've decided.

found a canvas kit/duffle bag from oswald bailey, the outdoors/camping shop for £5.99.

play sand from homebase for £4.99 per bag (25kg bags)

and ordered some polypropene bags from http://www.austinltd.co.uk/4436.html
at £1.30 per bag (this includes vat and delivery charges).

ordered 5 of the poly bags and going to make 4 bags of sand with them (going to double bag two of the bag as its going to be my main trainin bag till i get stronger chucking sandbags around. all 4 bags will be lined with a bin bag inside before i put the sand in. using a bin bag as theyre free.

going with dad to homebase tomorrow hopefully to get 5 bags of sand.

getting the canvas bag on the weekend.

so hopefully by next week i will have:

3x 25kg bags (2 of the bags are doubled bagged)
    2x 12.5kg bags or approx
    4x 6.25kg bags

the smaller bags will be either from bin bags or equivalent sealed and wrapped in about 3 layers of duct tape.
