I've just made 2 sets of suspension systems so thought I'd show you the video I used and links to were to get the stuff from nice and cheap.
First you need to buy a set of these - 5 m x 2 HD Luggage, roof rack Trailer tie down strap on eBay (end time 18-Mar-10 01:17:43 GMT)
And a pair of these (You'll only need 1 if your just making 1 set but they sell them in pairs) - 2 x 25mm Cam Buckles for webbing (450kg) on eBay (end time 18-Mar-10 00:25:44 GMT)
Next you'll need one of these http://www.wickes.co.uk/Steel-Quick-...nk/invt/159422 and some pvc piping for the handles which you can get from B&Q or a similar place near were you live.
Next cut both the 5m webbing in half when they arrive. Leaving you with 2 x 2.5 m lengths with buckles and 2 x 2.5m lengths without.
Next follow the instructions on this video - YouTube - Make Your Own Suspension Trainer
The only thing you are going to do different is to make the 3rd strap he uses out of the extra buckle you bought and one of the off cuts of webbing you cut. All you need to do is get someone to stitch it up like the other buckles that came attached.
If you need any help you let me know, I can take pics of mine if needed.

Nice mate!
On the video link the author mentions this site with close-up photos of the construction process, plus a video by Ross Enamait, at RossTraining.com using the homemade system.
This reminds me - I've got all the stuff in my shed waiting for me to make my own suspension system (never gotten around to it yet)
