    Hi all,
having just taken the specs for a rack it would seem that I dont have room for one in the house
does anyone know of an alternative to a power rack? Also, in regards to the barbell bars, how long are they??
    Cheers all

    they come in different size's

proper 2" oly bars are gerenally 6' or 7'. Standard bars (think argos catalogue stuff) are usually 5' long and only have a diameter of 1".

regards the first question you can get squat stands which you can set at your own width.
    PB's as of 2010: Deads 220kg, Squat 200kg(190 currently) , Bench 115kg,
    2012 Targets: Deads 250kg, Squats 230kg, Bench 130kg.

Please note the the sizes Dave put up are misleading. whn he said 2" he means the sleeves on the end of the bar and NOT the whole length. the difference between a standard bar and an Olympic bar are that Oly bars have rotating 2" sleeves (the rest of the bar is generally 28mm but some companies sell them upto 32mm and try palm them off as standard) and the standard bars do not. Olympic bars are also much stronger!

Even if you knew this gazap I'm still putting this up incase someone else gets confused.

    No offence inended Dave!

A mate of mine uses 2 builders trestles from Screwfix, they're only £48 for a pair and take upto 250kg. Plus they fold away nicely.

    Here's the link to them:
