Foam rolling. Can anyone spell it out to me.
I have quite tight hamstrings from squatting, would doing some foam rolling help this?
I gather there are different sizes and coloured accordingly, which would be the best one to get for leg rolling?
I can't find the info i know i have seen before on the forum.

i dont think the colour really matters, and size is space dependent really and which exercises you intend on doing, i have a 10cm x 45 cm and its fine for me. . . have a look on the MP homepage, there is an article about back pain and it explains a lot about foam rolling in there (also called `SMR')

    Cool i'll have a look.
I think i read somewhere that the different colours denote different softness, can't remember where i read it though. I guess it would only work with one manufacturers line though.

Do you use them whenever you feel the need then?
What are the benefits for you? I'm slightly in the dark about it.

I use it as much as I can to be honest. Not only is it good to ease up DOM's/soreness but it also prevents this, aiding in recovery.

Before and after every leg workout anyway. It's a nice little warm up and helps activate my lazy "ass" glutes for squating.

    It's essentially a poor man's sport massage.

Your right, especially when it comes to using a foam roller for hip flexors!!
