    I'll be adopting techniques used by DC such as rest pause and negatives over the next two weeks.

    HIT is a very different style of training so it makes sense to try something at the opposite end of the scale. I'm getting good results so far from HST and it is something i'll be using again, i'm waiting to train DC until i'm more experienced.

    This happened to me the other week. I had been round Leeds for my mates birthday and didn't get home till 6.30 in the morning. I then woke up at about 11.00 and hit the gym at 12.00 (closes at 13.00 on a Sunday). Despite the clear lack of sleep I felt pretty strong and knocked out a PB on the deads.

    I don't know if it was psychological or if the excess calories had something to do with like you say. I didn't get hammered or anything though, only had 6/7 pints maximum all night so felt relatively fresh in the morning. Needless to say I hit the sack hard though after my gym sesh.

    It was over the space of about 6 hours though. Started drinking at about 20.00 stopped at about 2.00 in morning. But yeah, was a bit of a carb up.

    EDIT: I was also dancing like a mofo so I probably burnt plenty of cals lol.
