    Ok here we go again..
Had a bit of a long lay off from training, so am now back and dedicated to getting back in shape...

Gonna post up my details and monitor the progress.

Eating Plan is just being worked on again, so I need to work on that before I can post.

I will be following the StrongLifts 5x5 routine (as linked here)

Stats will be added shortly, just wanted to start the journal to help get me motivated again.

So here goes... a new start and a new plan!

    Wish me luck...

Good luck! I think you'll do well on the 5x5 and looking forward to seeing your progress.

A couple of questions if I may:

    1/ Why the lay off?
2/ Were you bigger before the lay off and did you lose much?

I know you said you'll be posting up your diet - will you also be posting up the supplements you are taking?

    Thanks Daffy..
I am actually quite shocked and upset that I have let myself down so much over past year...
I look awful.. I am back 5 years by the looks of me...

It feels like I am starting all over again..
but at least this time I know whats possible and that it is achievable...
And I am wiser now than when I first started all those years ago..

I know what you're saying re. knowledge. I've learnt a shedload of information from posting here.

That's why I asked about what shape you were in before, to get an idea if muscle memory will play a part.

1 - Lay off due to work reasons. Changed job a year ago to sales rep and didnt get the time to go gym really (well I should of made time).
Also moved with the job promotion and the gym i am a member at is a little further away than is convenient here.
I did go a few times early this year but it was so cold my hands froze to the bars!! ha ha - so i was a bit put off..

2 - My avatar pic shows how much better shape I was in, plus I have some on my profile that i think look better.
Lets just say, when I started recording my training properly about 3 1/2 years ago I started at around 68kg. At my peak I was just under 12 stone (my target weight). So I am lighter now than I started!!! (grrrr)

I will complete my eating plan after the week once I have sorted what it is... ha ha... and also my supplements that are on order, but I have them sort of listed here (Click)

It is amazing how much you change (lose/gain in the wrong places) during a lay off, but I've noticed the body soon starts remembering how things use to be.

That's what I am hoping... ha ha..

Although I know I haven't lost much strength, I am still gonna start slowly and lightly - especially on this 5x5 routine.. I just know it's going to be hard and punishing, but the rewards hopefully will be well worth it..

Just sorting the eating plan out and I should be good to go Tuesday.

I am even doing body squats as often as I can during the day over this weekend to warm me up.. I can feel the DOMS calling already as soon as I start back!! ha ha
