The sweetners in sugar-free jelly will mess with your blood sugar and insulin though, which will make you more susceptable to holding the fat. I personally dont think its ideal to use anything with sweetners if you are going for max results.

True, using jelly regularly isn't ideal for maximum results but as a one off to add a little variation it's fine.
gonna keep my eye on this for sure, good luck with it!
I still think you should just consume exactly the same amount of calories and macros as the V-Diet but use whole food as opposed to shakes.
The V-Diet is just another low calorie approach, just easy to follow. Not exactly healthy

When you eat the foods your body is made for (Paleo foods) in a framework that your body is made for (feast-fast, such as IF), it all works beautifully.
I don't support what you are doing but good luck!

RC..somehow didn't think you would, but cheers for the support.
Gareth...I know where you're coming from and I make reference to that in my OP and in an ideal world I could/would do that. But my problem is being strict with the foods I eat and I'm hoping this will be the kick I need to sort my eating habits out.
Normally I would be sceptical about how it 're-sets' your tastes by not eating for 4 weeks but reading the V-Diet forum you see a huge amount of people that all agree that it happens, it kind of then starts think there must be an element of truth to it. Even a couple of posters on this site agree it changes there opinions towards food, and I trust the majority of posters on here.
The fat loss will be greatly appreciated but it isn't the main reason I am doing this.

TBH I'm not overly keen on the idea of the jelly, it's either all food or no food!!
If I ever get tempted I'll always have the elastic band to rely on!!

I would say that if this diet was in detriment to your life and health, then don't do it, otherwise I'm all for supporting what you are doing. It will be a great experiment and a great insight into the way the body works on a personal level and to also appreciate that you have the mental strength to battle against urges and the like.
As for the Jelly, this might be OK once in a while but as HTTK already stated, they are pretty much rammed in sweeteners and this does little good to the body. When I do have it though once in a while, I use this recipe:
2 Blackcurrant sugar-free sachets with pint boiling water and mix.
75g Strawberry milk protein shake with a pint water.
When you mix both together, it comes out lovely with a kind of mouse like texture to the bottom and jelly above. Then again, if one of your reasons for doing this is to see how you can change your 'eating brain', then maybe allow it. Could make your own much healthier verions using xylitol:

Some decent sugar free recipes on there.
