Well I think its about time I started my an online log. I have been keeping one in a database but I'll start posting online as I have just started a new routine.

Well I decided that I needed to change my conventional 3 day split bodybuilding routine to keep my gains good. Decided to go for the Stronglift 5x5 recommended by dope.

I am starting off on the standard Stronglifts 5x5 for beginners, 3 times per week or every 1 or 2 days with an A and B workout. I changed the barbell rows for dumbell rows as I dont feel comfortable doing them.

    Workout A

    Squat 5x5
    Bench Press 5x5
    Dumbell Row 5x5
    Dips 5x5

    Workout B

    Squat 5x5
    Overhead Press 5x5
    Deadlifts 1x5
    Pull-Ups 5x5

Today was my first day proper squatting and I must say I have been missing out! I done workout A and really enjoyed it. Got myself used to the lifts and the weights and felt comfortable throughout.

    Date : 15/09/08
    Weight : 86.3KG
    Workout A

    Squat - 60KG - 5/5/5/5/5
    Bench Press - 60KG - 5/5/5/5/5
    Dumbell Rows - 30KG - 5/5/5/5/5
    Dips - BW - 5/5/5/5/5

Went to the gym today. Arrived at 5.20 and apparently the last enty is 5.00. What kind of gym is only open to 6 oclock on a saturday? Do people not work out on a saturday night?

Anyway joining my Uni gym on monday for £35 per year cant complain. Havent had a look around yet but cant imagine the facilities will be anything less than amazing!

Aye thats the Glasgow one, there are two which I can get access to but I think the one you are talking about is the one I would go to as it is on campus like 3 minutes away from where I get my lectures.

Its £35 to join the sports things thats access to clubs, the gym, swimming and lots of facilites such as an even bigger gym not too far away with 5 a side pitches and synthetic and grass pitches. Its amazing value but can't really say I'll use it for more than the gym when I have a bit of time between lectures.

Its open 7am to 22.50 mon-thur, 7am to 21.10 friday and 9am to 17.50 saturday and sunday. Pretty decent

cool. tis a good gym, just a bit small.

me and my mate had to pay 3.50 per go as we wernt glasgow uni students but cos we had our liverpool uni card, they charged us cheaper.

i miss the oly weights and platform at that gym.

Well today was the first time I had a chance to use the uni gym and I was quite impressed. Its just a shame at how busy it gets, fingers crossed it cools down. Was weird though, no one went near the squatting rack which was great news for me!

    Date : 23/09/08
    Weight : 84KG
    Workout A

    Squat - 70KG - 5/5/5/5/5
    Bench Press - 65KG - 5/5/5/5/5
    Dumbell Rows - 32.5KG - 5/5/5/5/5
    Dips - BW - 5/5/5/5/5

Went well, felt I had a little more in me on the dips so I will try a 10kg dumbell and take it from there.

The rows felt pretty easy so I done my bent over rows for the 4th and 5th set back to back, ie. right arm- 32.5kg x5 straight onto left and back to right and left again.
