****ed my back last Wed's (8 days ago) I'm now having trouble walking, sitting, lying down (just cannot get comfortable in any position), my only friends are Ibuprofen, Paracetomol with Codeine and CuraHeat Patches.

I will accept CV's for volunteers to put on my socks 'n' shoes for me as am now longer able to perform said task for myself (hmmmph!).

***Note to self*** Do NOT straighten back and legs stupidly at last second whilst doing heavy BORs as the resulting swinging action of the hips as they move forwards will cause agonising pain in your lower back..... please excuse me whilst I go and cry myself to sleep in a cool dark room .....

Thanks Sweetie , if it's no better by end of Bank-Holiday Monday I'm off to the Doc, may ask him to refer me to an osteopath (thanks for the suggestion ). The PT reckons it's possible I may have torn some of the fibres at the top of my PSIS where one of the glute muscles join in

Edit: Just read an older post of your's - maybe I need some massage too (sports massage the best? verses the usual Spa-style one I get when I get a facial)

The deep massage really helped though not sure it will help if you have torn muscle fibres - ouch!

Im sorry to hear this LH, I hope you get better soon....Back injuries suck (i know all too well) took about 5/6 weeks before mine felt right...still get twinges every so often.

Sports massages will help relieve some of the tension, but if they're a good therapist they probably wont just attack with their hands they'll use some ultrasonics as well as hot oil.

It wont make it better right away as its a likely to be a tear and needs to repair itself. The only thing I can really suggest is taking a week off and start foam rolling the surrounding area, glutes, abductors, adductors, thoracic spine, hamstrings and quads.....any tightness in these areas will likely pull on the affected area causing discomfort.

Oh and stand alot more, i found that was a lot better than sitting or laying down.
