lol
can remember one of the occasions quite clearly, was 27th dec 1996, we ended up bivying down the slopes below swirral edge/above red tarn!!! (was the sledging varity of bivying!!!). we'd been up to see if was safe enough to go over swirral in the snow but wasn't so went to head back down, there was about 10 of us in the group, so we made a 'wall' of 8 people on the path and were taking it 2 at atime climbing the slopes to come sledgeing back down at the wall!!!
The group leader didn't know 4 of us had bottles 'white lightening' in ruksacs (hey I was only 16 at the time)
Wicked laugh.

Had a quick google about and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of outdoor swimming in the NE, just 2 lads near weardale on the swimclub forum.
There's a bit in scarbourgh but tbh I can get to penrith quicker than there.
Not even anything on the ASA NE website. Will have a better look tonight. Also my old swimming club still train out of the leisure centre my gyms in, next time I see them training my pop in to ask if they no anything going on round here.
If I get going I'll start off in the pool, but would love to progress to the outdoors!! Whenever people talk about doing stuff for charity like bungees/great north runs etc.. the one thing I've allways thought to myself I'd love a shot at would be a channel crossing!

The fact they keep their nutrients means they are HOLY. Cucumbers are just vile, bland watery things that make everything else around them taste of them!! And, umm, yes, I'm mad. I was thoroughly enjoying the waves! Just our support rowing boats couldn't keep up with the swimmers because it was like rowing into a brick wall for them.

) and it fitted me perfectly whereas a few weeks ago it didn't!
