    Wednesday judo

    went to a club up in summerston. practiced tomeo nage and some footsweeps. Randori was short and sweet but i managed to catch an o-uchi gari (inside leg sweep) - set up a corner throw from a kata gurama but didnt land it, need to look at the technique more.

    Need to start cross training in BJJ wrestling or sambo - leg grabs are out of judo as of next year. Pretty depressing since its pretty much the end of judo as a useful martial art. There is an mma gym up the street from me, might start going there be good to get some striking in too!

    Diet went to hell too, mates birthday. ended up eating a kfc and a macdonalds.

    Thurs judo

    Great ground fighting - got submitted once though but i feel as though i could have shucked my way out of it - rest of the time i was all over my opponents like white on rice. Even managed to survive 3 minutes with one of the best grapplers I know...so yeah it was going well, cept the last round i got a lady, she had a back mount on me and im no sure what happed (i think she graprevined my leg then i stretched out to escape) but i popped her knee really bad - spent most of the session after that distracted

    only got 3 rounds of standing randori - taken down once by a blackbelt who did the most crazy leg grab counter i ever seen - he basically kicked my left leg 4 times then threw me over my right leg (i was holding his right leg). It was quite odd!

    sat morning judo

    scored a yuko with one of the throws i was taught on wed, ground grappling was good until the 120+kg black belt pinned me and i thought my eyes were going to pop out. - my guard pass is getting good! still need to work my scarf hold and side mount escapes a lot as i still keep getting stuck.

    Judo sounds awesome. I used to do it while I was at school! I might join back up but I'm worried about my knee. I have torn the ligaments and put my knee cap round the wrong way at the same time! Would Judo be too much stress for my knee?!

    our coach has had like 5 hip ops and is still on the mat....

    I guess its down to you in the end man - do you feel like you can do it?

    I dont imagine it would cause you too much hassle...but you wont know until you take the plunge eh?

    btw im so drunk man, this smoking hot polish chick tonight said i was way too sexy...i might try and chase her up...even though she was clearly bonkers ... dayummm!

    Mon Morning

    Got up to 100kg on the fronts!

    4 x 5 115kg squats
    5 x 5 62.5kg barbell bench
    2 2 2 wide dead full rom pullups - finally getting the movement right!

    Some dude keeps getting into the gym before me and nicking the power cage and using it to bench. He is usually done before im finished my squats though - old faithful squat rack is getting used again.

    Missed this mornings workout - going to do my final Stronglifts type workout on friday (5 x 5 on the 115kg squat - thats my 1.5 bodyweightish squat) and switch to this type of routine :
