Just got up Going to take off Friday from work too, knocking training on the head till Monday - will start nice and fresh then. Meant to be running a sailing course this weekend (paid), so want to make sure I am as close to 100% as possible. Going to be eating as above for rest day totals, dropping protein a little (as it's a mission to eat that much when not active, very sickly) and upping fats with the difference.

Thank you guys for your kind words

Starting to recover now, had to teach this weekend so was out mucking about on boats - didn't do me good! Was told to go home at work today, but since mum dropped me in I couldn't, need to drop off an auction item for an ebay client tomorrow lunchtime so can't take tomorrow off! Shoulders, elbows and sometimes biceps are still aching terribly, the cold part of the light flu I've had has traveled to my head now, so I'm all blocked up with dizziness and all kinds of unpleasantness. It's a week since I've been to train, getting annoyed that I'm ill now, want to start getting my mass and strength up seriously now but being held back by this flu. Taking 5000ui vitamin D split dose daily with meals as well as mega cissus upon waking and just before bed, I'm fed up of having a crappy immune system, considering how good I know my diet is.

Enough ranting from me, being stuck in bed for 3 days straight makes you bitter, haha. Just thought I would drop my good friends here an update on the state of things Hope you are all well and do not succumb to the flu, first time I've had it, it is truly horrible.

sorry to hear you're still not well James, one plus is its better to be ill now before you start instead of when you are really making some gains. Use the time to the best though and get well soon

James, sucks that your still ill. Are you still IFing? I'd recommend not fasting if you aren't well, you don't want to stress your body any more than it is, I read this a while a go and it sorta stuck with me > Intermittent Fasting – The Common Cold | Critical MAS < I know it's nothing official but it's best to feed and rest the best you can, which I'm sure extended fasts aren't too positive. I could be completely wrong though!

I've kept IF up, hoping that it will help retain leanness whilst I'm out of training/general activities. Taking a read of that page now cheers...

EDIT: I can understand what the guy is saying, I didn't really notice any decrease in recovery or feeling worse due to fasting, my body manages things really well.

One thing I have noticed is my lean abs seem to have gained some bloat, I'm putting it down to decreased activity, I've been eating lower calories so I don't see that it is fat gain.

Back at gym tonight, felt ok during the day, my shoulders are KILLING me now though, the flu is still sitting in my joints somewhat!

Bench Press (3x8 @12RM) 8x85k, 8x85k, 8x85k - only just made last set, want to switch these to incline next session onward, really going to focus on chest
    OH Press (4x4 @ 7RM) 4x50k, 4x50k, 4x50k, 4x50k - had to drop by 5k, pretty good however! Shoulders starting to twitch
Dips (3x6-8 MRP) 6x100k, 6x95k, 8x90k - dropped LOADS, normally managing to do around 120-130k for dips, shoulders felt super weak here, more recovery needed!
    Cable Triceps Pulldowns (4x4-6 MRP) 4x60k, 4x57.5k, 5x55k, 6x52.5k - pretty good!
Seated Calf Raise (2x8-10 MRP) N/A - Calm spazzed out as I tried to lift machine into place, HUGE cramp, left it at that!

Not bad considering I've had the flu, felt pretty meh with the session however. At least I can somewhat train again.
