Well thanks to alot of help from you guys I've finally sorted out a solid base set of exercises that I'm going to start as of today's session.

I will be following the 3 day split routine-

    MONDAY - Pull

    Dead lifts
    Wide grip chins
    Row [Bentover / Seated]
    Bicep Curl

    WEDNESDAYS - Push

    Bench Press
    Incline Press
    Shoulder Press
    Dips

    FRIDAYS - Legs - [EDIT 26th October 2005 - REMOVED Leg Press]

    Squat
    Straight Leg DeadLifts
    Calf Raise

Planning on purchasing some pure whey once my maxi 'we don't rip you off much' muscle cyclone has run out, should be tonight in fact...

    I'll post results later!

    James,

    a couple of questions,
    1. How many sets and reps?
    2. Seated bentover row? What's that?

Deads, squats and big bench is 5x5, all the rest planned to be 3x6.

Seated / Bentover, is there due to the fact I might choose one or the other exercise, namely seated rows or bentover rows. Hmm... in hindsight maybe I should include both as seperate exercises since they work differnet areas?

EDIT: Perhaps I should add a tricep exercise to the list too, maybe pulldowns in the PULL session?

on that push day your triceps are gonna hit with any push exercise (think bench press how much they get used) the dips should finish them off nicely, any more would be overtraining IMO,

with regards to row, you probably will only manage one exercise as your back should be shot from a good set of rows

So it's ok to cut seated rows from the routine and just go with bentovers? I hope so, because I like my bentover rows =).

I agree with Tom. Just stick with the bent-over rows.

Also IMO if you are doing 5x5 squats then I'd drop the leg press as your legs should be fried after the squats. Leg press as well will just lead to overtraining.

Straight leg is gonna be 3x6, ops sorry forgot about that. The three main exercises (The first ones listed) on each day are going to be the 5x5's.
