Ok, so I started training properly since the start of september 09 after coming across the wonder that is 'Starting Strength'. Prior to this I was wasting time on the machines too scared of doing free weights because (a) weights room was intimaditing, and b) i didn't know what to do.

Having recently stalled on ss numerous i moved onto madcows - started with numbers too high tho and half stalled. Anyways i've not been squatting for a bit because of an injury i got from football. I will be restarting madcows tomorrow i think.

Can't decide whether to do cleans + highpulls or rows + deadlifts.

    Stats:
    Age: 19
    Weight: 90-95kg Height: 5ft 10 or 11.

    Best lifts to date:
    Squat: 130x2, Bench: 85x4, Deadlift: 160x3, Mili Press: 57.5x2, Clean: 75x3

    Aims for summer 2010:
    Squat: 140, Bench: 100, Dead: 180, Mili: 65, Clean: 80

    Week 1 Day 1

    Squat: 90x5, 95x5, 100x5, 105x5, 110x5
    Bench: 55x5, 60x5, 65x5, 70x5, 75x5
    Row: 40x5, 45x5, 50x5, 55x5, 60x5

    Hypers: 2x8 + 25kg
    Sit ups: 4x8 + 15kg

Squats were harder than i thought, mind you i was slightly hungover and they were beltless .
    everything else pretty simple.
Also, I decided to go for rows/deadlifts instead of high pulls/cleans. I think i'll get a stronger back in doing so which can only be beneficial for my squat! GOOD TIMES!

    Hi mate.

I would have said rows and Deads. Dead lift is God's own exercise.

Good luck with Madcow. It is BRILLIANT!

Don't start too heavy and you will be fine.

    Good luck.

    Week 1 Day 2

    Squats: 90x5, 95x5, 100x5, 100x5
    Clean + Press: 42.5x5, 45x5, 47.5x5, 50x5
    Dead: 100x5, 110x5, 120x5, 130x5

    Decline sit ups: 3x8

Also did some cardio and stretches - have had tight muscles for the past few days.

Overall very easy workout, clean + Press = best of both worlds think i might stop them after week 4 not sure! Also wasn't really sure whether to increase dead set by 5 or 10kg - decided on 10kg increments and glad about that, felt sick after it. Might do these early 4 weeks beltless just to prepare the core for smashing pbs.
