sessions are looking good and its also good to see you not pushing to hard and listening to your body. Wish I could be like that

    Why the preacher curls?

i do preacher curls as i feel they prevent you from cheating throughout as only the biceps can do the work and they hurt like hell lol i make sure i keep the movement as long as i can in each rep. I decided to add these into each workout as wanted some progress on my biceps as they are not really worked on 5x5 apart from chins.

    Hey Dcrackers,

Thought I'd chip in as I'm fairly new here and following SL 5x5 too. I've read you log and your making good progress, Obviously losing BF too so good on you.

I'm a bit like you, I started a bit higher on the squats like you did the bench as I used to enjoy them before. Against the rules I know but I didn't start too high.

no doubt you'll back in the gym stacking them up again soon

Yeah I've got a journal, the Maximillion mission. Not many workouts logged in it yet! but I'll get there. I'm waiting til next month before going for a weigh in (just down the local boots to use the machine) to check my progress. I started trying to change my diet end of April and took a good month to get into it but next weigh in will be about 3 months since I started.

    A stone by 11th september, that's a good challenge.

yea thanks MJ.23 yea i am seeing my body take a different shape if i can just keep getting stronger and lose body fat for as long as possilbe i will be more than happy. DIet has generally been pretty good apart from this last week but as i was ill and couldnt train i thought what the hell. However i will be maintaining a pretty strict diet with calorie deficite until i feel my body fat has dropped enough then i will go on my first lean bulk. I will post some pics when i feel im were i need to be to start my bulk.

yea i know what you mean about the diet it does take a lot of getting used to, i have cut out sandwhiches for lunch i now have salad every day with light dressing and chicken egg or tuna just simple changes that make a big difference. I think 14 stone by sept 11th is a tough but realistic goal it makes me realise i cant skip the diet on too many occasions as i will not reach my goal but i am really hoping to bench 90kg by xmas and squatt the same i figure if i reach that goal the lok will come with it

Right so its been too ong since my last post, shortly after this post i had to have a minor operation which put me out of training for a couple of months and i found it really tough to get back into the gym.

However im fully fighting fit again and have a new lease of motivation, as i have not trained reguarly for months
i am going to lower the weights down and try and get back into the 5x5 progamme. i figured with the rapid increase of weight in this programme all be it 2.5kg a session it wont take me long to get back up there. So my new goal is to lose bodyfat as although i have kept most of my weight off i have lost muscle too. I now play competitve 5 a side football once a week which i am using as my cardio workout. i will hit the 5x5 programme 3 times a week also and would like to reach a 100kg squatt by june and 90kg bench. I figured if i can reach this stage with a healthy diet and keeping active the physique results will come with it.
