since my knees have been playing up my whole workout plan has gone to pot really. Need to refocus so im writing out my workout plan and sticking it up everywhere.

Missed pretty much everything in my light week apart from bench so that was dreadful really.

Going to give squats and press a go today. Expecting some pretty major doms and a poor performance but going to push it and see how it goes.

I played a full game on sunday which went into overtime which we then lost. knees were okish during and after that so thats a good sign i suppose. but ive got a game both friday AND saturday now so they might flare up again after that. will just have to see how it goes really. Gotta bust out the ibuprofen in a big way!

Ok today. didnt finish squatting because of my knees but at least my legs got a bit of work, however minor it was.

    Squats
80kg x 5 - easy but could feel my knee getting aggroed. so stopped it there. better than nothing i suppsoe.

    Press
    43.75kg x 5
    50kg x 5
56.75 x 5+ - got 6, guessing missing my light week workout didnt help and ive been cutting back on the food to so the wont be helping.

    Chins
not really a set amount or anything just did what i felt like so eccentrics and deadhang attempts and assisted ones etc, need to get it more regimented. I did however get most of the way up from a dead hang which is the hard bit, but then got stuck at about 1/2 way up which is normally the easier bit. close to a full DH now.

Also did a few front and side raises holding a 5kg bumper just for a giggle between chin sets.

You still looking for weightlifting shoes? Strengthshop are promoting their Loki's for £40 from £65 to make way for their new shoes, their new shoes look a bit like the adidas iron works 2.

Training going ok man? How's the knee?

edit: forgot the link https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/clear...ing-shoes.html they're also doing a clear out for the old nike romaleos (£145).

Been a pretty crap week or two training wise really. done pretty much nowt. I played a game on wednesday which we lost and another one today which we also lost. The chondromalacia seems to be on the way out thanks full (touch wood) but the point where my patellar tendon attatches is sore now (osgood schlattery type pain) but thats only because i haven't played for a while and now im jumping back into it the tendon is getting yanked on and needs to get used to it again.

Now that im back into playing again i need to get back to training, get my head back into it bigtime. Im still going to leave legs out for now until i know they can take it again and then ill start back with a relatively light weight and work back up again. I'm happy with doing that, i've got no aspirations of competeing in lifting or anything and im in it for the long haul so slow and steady it is for me. My legs get a fairly good workout heaving my fat ass up into the air hundreds of times playing basketball anyway for the time being.

The knee pain in had at the patellar atachment is hanging around, still pretty painful, was planning on going back to training with the jets this week but that doesnt look likely now. We also made it through to the next round of the founders cup and have a game against notts uni this weekend which i need to be healthy for.

Back to lifting again today after about 2 weeks without. not really sure why i stopped, guess being injured and not being able to do leg work demotivated me a bit. but it feels good to be backkkkkk.

Bench 80kg 3x5 - bit of a drop of course after 2 weeks off but nothing huge, should be back up in no time.

Seated Press 50kg x 5 - wasnt planning on this but did it anyway to get back into things.

chins on rings - 1/2 x 3 with 2 slow lowers after - almost got the full deadhang now. being a heavy lump doesnt help

Pullovers 10kg 2 x 10 - lack of lowerbody stuff means i need to add some upperbody in so i thought id give these a go, pretty good.

    curlzzz to finish

Yeah as i said, good to get back in to it. when i reintroduce lower body work ill drop the weights right back, happy do to that really. Work back up slowly keeping my form good and staying injury free from basketball this time hopefully. Need to drop some bodyweight too.

Good again today, Been bouncing off the walls lately because i've not been doing as much basketball. Was dancing around the garage like an idiot during the workout in my rest periods until i started to get tired at the end.

Barbell rows 60kg 3x5 - nice and easy, could have easily gone heavier maybe but wanted to keep them very strict.

DB rows 17kg 2x15 each arm - all good. Im not sure yet if i want BB or DB rows to be the main rowing movement so i did both today.

Good Mornings 20kg 3x10 - first go at these so i just used the bar to get the hang of it. Doing them mainly for my lower back to get some work in while not deadlifting. Trying not to shove my hips too far back and not to bend my knees too much in a effort to keep most of the work on the lower back. I think thats how its done anyway any tips would be appreciated. Although the hamstring work might not be a bad thing so im not sure.

BB Shrugs 50kg 3x10 - Ok on these. the bar positioning and where it is held poses a slight problem though in that it catches on things, man things. Everything gets squished or gets caught above the bar and dragged up as i shrug. Could try wearing tighter boxers and see if that helps but not sure if it would. i tried moving my grip out so the bar is higher up, things still get a bit squished but it is a bit better. However with a wider grip the movement seems much less effective. So i'm in a pickle, any advice would be appreciated.

Russian twists 12kg 3x10 (left to right and back = 1) - all fine here.

Got a game on saturday against nottingham uni for the next round of the founders cup so i need to make sure my knees are as good as possible for then.

OUCH! I've come close to catching on cleans but lucky not had a major incident yet, thats a mans lifting nightmare right there lol. It happens at the top of deadlifts too, when your lifting heavy it can get rather uncomfortable.
