    Hi Jammers

Bit late but I think your diet looks very well rounded (as long as it's wholewheat pasta and wholegrain rice etc etc). Well done on downing 3 pints of whole milk a day! Maybe you should move some of your high gi carbs to post workout though to help recovery.

Calorie wise the balance is right, if anything you're high on protein. Everyone promotes different ratios for optimum results but your daily diet is protein - 824cal (25%), carbs - 1296cal (40%), fat - 1116cal (35%). Most people recommend something similar to that.

I'm currently following the rapid fat loss diet for 2 weeks (only because some of my jeans don't fit anymore and i don't want to buy new ones! Starting weight was 73kg and I've lost 4.5kg in 9 days. Hopefully not too much is muscle and lots of it is fat ). I'm going to follow you blog here and once I'm phased off the diet I might do something similar!

Nice one moonman, thanks for the encouragement Good luck with your fat loss routine.

Haven't been keeping this as updated as I should but chugging through the routine at light weights, this will be my life blood once I start hitting PB's each workout. Diet has been fairly consistent, been on it for a few weeks now and gone from 65ish to 70kg which is encouraging, used one of those weird electronic bodyfat machines and it came out as 19% which I thought was a bit high, will worry about that when I'm cutting in the spring time though! Once I've made some noticeable improvement I'll post before and after pics.

The training routine has been patchy due to commitments with fire service etc. Got selection next wednesday so won't be able to train on tuesday etc. Passed my initial fitness test, vo2 max was 45, pass rate was 43.. eeeeek! I've got until the end of november to hopefully get this up to a more respectable
    level.

I was a bit naughty and went for some max lifts yesterday, these were all 1RM - Dead 120kg/264lb and Squat 90kg/198lb. Not overly excited by the squat, I think I struggle with my clicky knees but my form is okay (I think, will get vids posted as soon as I find someone to film me.. Someone who hasn't spent 15mins in the sunbeds and uses the weightlifting area mirrors to do their hair in (true story))

Anyway yeah hope you're all having a great week, I'm off to southampton to undo all my good work, ciao!

Cheers MJ, I've always had a fairly strong deadlift, not sure why though.. can't complain! Just need to work on my squat. I like looking ahead on the stronglifts spreadsheet, the idea of squatting 135kg 5x5 by 6th december is... interesting! Missed training yesterday so will train today before work, squat, bench and row!

Annoyed at myself for being so tardy with training and updating this. Been down with flu over the weekend and mega dosing vitamin c + night/day nurse to try and alleviate the symptoms for firefighter selection which is tomorrow!
Sods law I would get ill before the big day..

I've lost a few pounds over the weekend, I'm going to assume most of this is water and a little fat from my bulking, haven't been eating as I usually do but I'm not too concerned, my main aim at the moment is getting the right vitamins and minerals etc into my diet to make sure I'm well...
Calories can wait for a while! I'm probably hitting around maintenance most days anyway. I have to give a special thanks to whoever it was who 'bigged up' the effervescent vitamin c tablets, I think it was in a thread to do with increasing testosterone levels in an older male, but also touched on the benefits of mega dosing when coming down with illness. Whoever it was has probably inadvertently saved me from having to pull out of selection, something which would have truly broken my heart.

If anybody can remember the thread I'd love to have another read through/thank the author etc

I'm beginning to learn how amazing you lot really are for these little lifesaving bits of advice, so this is a big thanks from me. I hope to learn from my experiences and pass on some of my own tips to others later down the line.
I should be back on training and bulking next week and will be able (for the first time) to complete a whole weeks training consistently without exam prep/illness etc getting in the way

    Thanks again!
