Right, its about time I started a new log here now I finally have the internet back. I am going light for the next few weeks, nothing below 3-4reps preferrably as my CNS has taken a beating the past few months leading up to my last contest. On september 3rd I did:

242.5 squat in a very loose suit and belt, this was pretty easy.
140 bench raw( got 150 but my foot slipped so it didnt count)
260 deadlift http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7oCNbImDlY which actually felt pretty easy and I regret not taking 272.5(600lbs) for my 3rd attempt

    EDIT: On 17th March 07 I hit:

275 squat in predator briefs, a boss suit and wraps. THis was easy, I wanted 300 but I'd had my 3 attempts, underestimated myself .
152.5 bench in a single ply katana, just missed 160
272.5 deadlift in predators and a t-rex suit

    EDIT 2: On 15th July 07 I hit;

317.5kg squat, British record. Had more in me but injured my back a little
170kg bench press, missed 182.5 as my back cramped up.
282.5kg deadlift, although personally I feel I was robbed of 300, I locked it out and didn't "hitch" but apprantly the bar was static for a split second before lockout, next time...

EDIT: December 07 I hit 210x4 squat in only a belt

EDIT: July 12th 2008 I hit (after some bad dehydration and a bad shoulder problem)

    340 squat
    180 bench
    300 deadlift

I also pulled 310 in the gym 3 weeks prior to this

I am hoping for a 300 squat, 200 bench and 300 deadlift fully equipped, which is definately within my reach when I get all the equipment on.

For the next few months I will be training with only a belt to get my core strength up, this will probably last until february/march time where I will start lifting equipped again to get used to it for my qualifier in april. I need to total 707.5 here to qualify, which I could probably already hit fully equipped. Currently I am sitting around 15stone(95.5kg) and I will be competing in the 110kg category, so I can afford to gain a lot of weight over the next few months. I plan to be about 100kg by christmas, then really kick it up a gear and start going heavy.

I am training 4x a week, 3x at my gym at uni and once in Leeds with Andy Bolton and his team, they have been a great help with my squat and deadlift, the atmosphere there is like nothing I have ever seen before. My split is something like:

    Mon
    Max Effort(ME) Bench
    Heavy back
    Heavy delts
    Heavy tris

    Wed(clearly my favourits day )
    ME squat
    ME Deadlift
    Light calves

    Fri
    Dynamic effort(DE) Bench
    Light chest
    Light back
    Light delts
    Light Tris

    Saturday or Sunday
    DE squats
    Heavyish Box squats(normally 5rep sets)
    DE deadlifts
    Heavy calves
    Light quads
    Light hams

Here are my last 2 workouts:

    Mon
    ME bench

    60x15
    90x8
    110x3
    122.5x3
    122.5x3
    122.5x3
    122.5x3
    122.5x3

    Yates row
    60x15
    100x5
    120x3
    125x3
    125x3
    125x3
    125x3
    120x3

    DB shoulder
    18's x15
    30's x5
    34's x5
    36's x5
    38's x5
    40's x4

    Tri pushdown
    +red band
    Doubled
    30x8
    50x5
    50x4
    40x5

    Wed
    Squat
    Deadlift

    Squat
    20x10
    70x10
    110x5
    130x5
    140x4
    150x5
    160x5
    170x4
    175x3

    Deadlift
    70x8
    110x5
    130x5
    140x5
    150x5
    160x5
    170x5
    180x4

    Seated calf
    20x12
    40x8
    60x8
    70x8
    70x8

    Plate pinch
    20's x35
    20's x28
    20's x22

At the moment I am just assessing my raw strength to see where I am at, I have been very pleased so far, and think I could hit a 180x5 squat and 200x5 deadlift if I did them fresh. Bench is also slowly creeping back up after I changed my grip to a closer grip to work more shoulders and tris as this is the most important thing to train for shirted bench,

I have a niggly back injury at the moment stopping me going too heavy on deads but it is getting better by the week now I am going light.

Thats about it for the moment, all comments welcome.

It's an awesome experience. Andy is still looking for 2-3 more serious powerlifters to train with him if anyone is interested. You dont need to be amazingly strong, just dedicated and very serious about training, then you will fit in nicely.

A yates row is like a Barbell row but with reversed grip and u stand almost up straight, its a short ROM but hits the lats and lower back hard

    Welcome back Meat

You have packed on some serious strength in recent months - nice work!

You know Andy Bolton trains in Leeds - it might be worth seeing about that. I can get the details of the club if you want, one of the members on veganfitness used to train there.
